Born in Oakland, California, Derek joined the Air Force in 1979.  His military service took him all over the world, but he decided to call the Sacramento Valley his home in 1986.  Answering an ad in the local newspaper in 1997, he was hired as a loan officer and began his mortgage career.  In 1993, Derek obtained his California Real Estate Broker’s license and in 2003 received his Hawaii Mortgage Broker’s license.  His passion for educating and serving his community led him to the radio industry where he has successfully developed a weekly radio show called “The Real Estate Coach”.  A local business owner, Derek developed RESA, Inc. (Real Estate Services of America) with the purpose of providing a complete real estate services network.  From real estate sales, mortgage loans to insurance services among other things.  We have bundled our network of professionals to ensure any real estate need, whether “before, during or after” is easily accessible.  As a valued member of our community, RESA, Inc. provides exceptional service and guarantees you have the knowledge to make the right decision.  RESA, Inc., actively supports the local chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the UCD Breast Cancer Foundation and Bikers Against Child Abuse.  By donating a Harley Davidson motorcycle and holding their annual raffle RESA, Inc., is able to successfully support each of these Foundations.  Married to Kim Clark Realtor and Owner of Realty World–Sterling California in Folsom, and a busy father of five children, Derek enjoys spending time with his family, flying private planes, participating in local charity events and holding free workshops to educate people about real estate.
